Describe the setting- include location, time period, and socioeconomic characteristics.
The setting in my book is Dallas at the current time. The two characters, Sookie and Bill are on a business trip, meaning that Sookie has to find a missing vampire with her mind reading. In Dallas there is the Silent Shore Hotel. The hotel is very expensive and fancy. It was the first hotel developed for vampires. Tha hotel is completely dark and silent, with no windows, or music playing in the elevators. The hotel secartily it top-noch, it has guards with guns posted at each elevator and even the desk man has a gun. So far the time period that this book covers is about four days.

I think it is interesting how they explain the acceptance of vampires in different locations. Dallas is different than Louisiana. Later in the series they go to Mississippi, too.
